MISTAKE #1 NOT CHECKING WITH YOUR VENUE
Before you purchase any sparklers, check with your venue to make sure they allow wedding sparklers. Unfortunately, some venues do not allow them. So, make sure you double check with your venue and ask first!
(Sparklers are not returnable; you have to have a special license to ship sparklers. So, you wouldn’t be able to ship them back to us.)
MISTAKE #2: NOT ORDERING YOUR SPARKLERS IN TIME
Sparklers are classified as hazardous material and can only be shipped by ground shipping only. This prevents us from being able to offer any kind of rush delivery, so make sure to have plenty of time for your sparklers to get to you before your wedding.
Unfortunately, we cannot overnight them because sparklers are not allowed to be shipped via air. All of our orders are sent out by UPS ground shipping only. Due to USDOT regulations, this is the only way they can be shipped. Please allow 2-10 business days to receive your order. We recommend ordering your sparklers a month in advance.
MISTAKE #3: DON’T OVER BUY
We recommend ordering 25% less than your RSVP guest count. Keep in mind there will be a few guests who may choose to leave early. Such as grandparents, guest traveling, and parents with babysitters at home. Everyone won’t stay until the end. Keep this in mind when choosing your wedding exit timeline. Some couples even plan a “fake exit.”
MISTAKE #4: DON’T ORDER THE WRONG SIZE SPARKLER
Make sure you purchase the right size sparkle for your wedding. The last thing you want to happen is to invest in wedding sparklers, then they burn out too quickly. We recommend using our 20” sparkler for guests of 150 or less. This sparkler lasts two minutes and will be the perfect amount of time for your grand exit. For crowds larger than 200, we recommend our 36” sparkler, because this sparkler burns for minutes and will allow plenty of time for everyone to get their sparkler lit in time and still have time for extra photos!
We don’t recommend using our 10” sparklers for wedding exits.
MISTAKE #5: NO ANNOUNCEMENT
We recommend making an announcement for a few reasons. First, you’ll want as many guests as possible to be present for your sparkler exit, so let them know what time it’s happening so they stick around. You can do this by having a sparkler display sign out on the welcome table when they arrive.
Second, we recommend having someone help you coordinate your sparkler exit. Someone you trust to make a quick announcement to guests and help light the first few sparklers. It’s always a good idea to let guests know to hold their sparklers still and upright and how to properly dispose of the sparklers.
We also recommend designating a couple of people to help ensure fire precautions are taken and all sparklers have been properly distinguished before leaving the reception.
MISTAKE #6: YOU FORGOT YOUR LIGHTER
Do not forget your butane torch lighter! We recommend packing it with your sparklers. You can purchase these lighters at your local corner store or Walgreens/CVS. Make sure you give the lighter to your wedding planner or the person who is helping you coordinate your sparkler sendoff. This could be a bridesmaid’s duty!
MISTAKE #7: NOT HAVING A DISPOSABLE BUCKET TO THROW AWAY YOUR SPARKLERS
This is very important to remember. Guests will need a place to throw away their wedding sparkler once it burns out. We recommend using a large galvanized steel trash can. Ask your venue if they have one, or if you will have to provide one. They can be thrown in the garbage once they’re completely cool. If you throw sparklers in the trash before they’re cool, it’s a fire hazard. Do not throw sparklers on the ground, they can cause a stain on the ground.
MISTAKE #8: YOU NEED MORE SPACE
Make sure you plan ahead of time where you’re going to have your sparkler exit. Make sure it’s in an open outdoor location away from anything potentially flammable or hazardous, for obvious reasons. Also, make sure there is enough space for guests to form two lines, and a wide aisle for you to walk down the center of together.
If you don’t have enough space, have your guest just stand together behind you holding their sparklers while you guys stand front and center. This is a great way to remember everyone who celebrated with you on your wedding day! Group photo, everyone!
MISTAKE #9: NOT TELLING YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
And, last but not least… make sure you get plenty of photos of your grand exit! Make sure you communicate with your photographer that you're planning on having a sparkler exit. You can also plan a quick practice run through together. This will also help them prepare to capture that magical moment on our wedding day.

How to plan for shipping times?
Please allow 2-10 business days to receive your order. Sparklers can only be shipped via ground shipping only, so make sure to leave plenty of time for them to get to you before your wedding.
We will ship your order the same day it is ordered if placed before 3pm central time or the following day if after 3pm. Orders on Saturday or Sunday will be shipped the following Monday. We ship orders daily from Texas.
Can you ship sparklers overnight?
